Thankfully there was nothing in the grass. But what about square leaves has Randulf so animate?

Leaves don't GROW square. They are MADE square. Either the leaves were trimmed by something, or the leaves were artificially made.

It is a trap! Of course.

Trimming every single leaf to be square?
That's at least a +10 bonus in Knowledge(Gardening)

that's not a tree!

Lol!

You may have intended it as a joke, but the first thought that occurred to me was also that it was some kind of armor, specifically some kind of scale mail, disguised as leaves. Perhaps the trees are ents wearing leaf-like scale mail armor?

The tentacle-like branches coiling from the wall behind the rightmost cell in panel 1 scare me. It has *got* to be some kind of monstrous tentacled entity disguised as a tree.

You may be onto something...
will they live through the square leaves to ever find out, though?

This is the area of the dungeon that looked like a slime pit to me, but obviously is something much more complicated. It appears to be like a corral but filled with some very exotic monsters!

I like how the key is hanging right there in plain sight.
Use it, if you dare! Mwa ha ha!

In the 3-D dungeon layout picture on Page 2-1, this room is in the lower right corner.
