Dang, he's pretty strong to be about to just ragdoll them around like that. Then again, considering the armor and weaponry he carries around, I'm not too surprised.

Still not sure how this is supposed to help him find the monster he's actually after, but I continue to see him gives blows that are arguably non-killing blows, just disabling them so I'm back to my theory that he plans to bully them into helping him.

likely once its down to one or two of them left, he will step back and offer a choice. give him the info he wants or he finishs the fight that they have already lost.

This dwarf knows the difference between working time and drinking time. When it's actually working time, look out.

"And a round of applause for the dwarf performance! Oh wait... sorry, no need to look at me like that!"

Beautiful art as always. Randulph is a great fighter!
Landvaettr 8th Jun 2021, 9:44 PM edit delete reply
Cool page! Randulf is defenetly a reliable badass in dire straits conditions. Luckily he also seems to be facing very unexperienced ennemies. Sure the first Klopius seems to have closely missed his head... but did the next in line (the hoplite) just critfailed? that is litteraly the worse way to use a spear and a shield. Considering narrative it's not that significant of course and doesn't take away the quality and dynamism of these last pages! Thanks for sharing!

I get the feeling that was meant to convey the shield-wielding attacker was trying to bash our dwarf hero in order to put him out of position, and THEN stab him. Unfortunately, he must not have realized our drunken dwarf is a wall of iron with the sturdiness of an ox, and that trying to knock him over was a patently bad idea.
Landvaettr 13th Jun 2021, 10:36 PM edit delete reply
Yeah got that feeling too. Still dumb af, if you have a spear and shield you wanna use that reach and keep yourself at a distance man.
Spear is deadly effective when you manage to keep a distance from your opponent. Reach gives you a substantial advantage even over more skilled or experienced opponents, can tell you that from personnal experience I pacticed HEMA for quite a few years. There's a reason for the spear being amongst the oldest human weapon as well as the one who got used consistently throughout thousands years by most civilisations.

But our Dwarf is camouflaged. So bumping into his general direction better than finding a weak spot in the armor, which you cannot clearly see.
Landvaettr 15th Jun 2021, 6:11 PM edit delete reply
Fair point! Forgot Randulf still might be aided by the camouflage during combat... still a dangerous and discutable strategy from the hoplite, especially when you have the numbers on your side... but hey lets call him reckless and unruly.

I like how our hero knew to not completely duck the trident from the retiarius, so it would glance up and put him out of position. Then after losing his hand, he just sits there in shock. He's probably going to scream and/or pass out later.
