Sorry for the late page again. I've been up for the last thirty hours trying to get the latest page done, and I'm super overworked and burnt out. I think I need to take a week off from the comic. Things have been really rough for me this year, but I have no intention of giving up. Also, my patreon goal has dropped back down under 250, so I really can't afford to make the bonus page every month anymore. I'm very sorry everyone.

This comic is essentially a second full time job, and I need some time to rest and figure out how I'm going keep affording to make it. Next update will be February 20.

Thank you all for sticking by me through this last year. I promise I will be back, and that I will not stop making Marble Gate Dungeon until it is done.

What!?! The eye-ball creature is benevolent!?!
Deoxy 10th Feb 2021, 3:53 PM edit delete reply
"Benevolent" might be too strong a word, but I think that there's a faction of the dungeon's inhabitants who very much want Randulf to find that floor...
jamwa 20th Feb 2021, 11:24 PM edit delete reply
is it randulf a faction of the dungeon wants to protect or is it collen?
chris-tar 9th Feb 2021, 11:25 PM edit delete reply
You have so many little details to draw.
I can see how that would take a lot of time....
But honestly, I need to win the lottery myself.. LOL
Rocktopus 11th Feb 2021, 1:51 AM edit delete reply
I don't really want to compromise on detail, either. I'll have to figure something out.

Take a break or slow down a bit. Don't burn yourself out.
Rocktopus 11th Feb 2021, 1:52 AM edit delete reply
Yeah, maybe a short break is what I need
Gyffes 11th Feb 2021, 1:58 AM edit delete reply
I love your art, the world you've created, the story you're telling. Slow down, don't stress yourself about this: stay healthy, and sane, and the tale will go on.
Nutster 14th Feb 2021, 2:00 AM edit delete reply
If you need a break, take a break. Nobody will fault you needing to balance the various parts of your life. When you are ready to return to the fold, I expect most of us will be waiting to follow the new adventures.
Lisekmaly 10th Feb 2021, 12:35 AM edit delete reply
I have like thousand ideas about what to write but they all seem so superflous. So I will say this: please rest and relax as much as you need to. You deserve it for this level of effort and commitment.

Go ahead take that break. I wish I could as well.

Did the monster attack or did she just slip.

Thanks. And I guess we'll find out!

Hey, health is important, so take a break if you need it. Thank you for informing us and bummer about the Patreon.

I don't know if the eyeball was surprised or if it did something. Because I am kind of surprised Colleen slipped like she did, she was walking perpendicular to the column ridges so her boot should have catches on it.
Rocktopus 11th Feb 2021, 1:55 AM edit delete reply
Thanks, and actually the patron support that I thought had pulled their pledge came through today!
chris-tar 11th Feb 2021, 8:52 PM edit delete reply
That means you have to cough up another page chump! kidding you are not a chump :)
Oldarmourer 10th Feb 2021, 4:42 AM edit delete reply
I'd far rather have slow pages than no pages and at least you warned us.
That's a lot more than many have beem doing lately.

That strap on her mace might stop her from dropping it in this case, but it's a real hazard in a fight, better to wrap both sides around her wrist then loop it over her thumb, she'd still have a hard time dropping it, especially if she closed her fist, but if someone or something a lot bigger and stronger grabbed it and yanked, instead of pulling her off balance it would slip off and throw them off balance instead...had this proven to me several times in baton training...the hard way ;)
Great art and story as usual, enjoy the break.
We'll still be here when you get back.
Rocktopus 11th Feb 2021, 1:58 AM edit delete reply
Thank you very much! I promise that I will come back and not be like one of the thousands of web comics that go on hiatus forever.
Halftea 10th Feb 2021, 7:12 AM edit delete reply
While I can only speak for myself, I feel we would all rather wait for you to recover and recharge than rush a page because you feel obligated. Take care of yourself, or you will have trouble telling the story we are all here to enjoy.
Rocktopus 11th Feb 2021, 1:58 AM edit delete reply
Thanks for understanding. I appreciate it.
Nomad 10th Feb 2021, 7:51 AM edit delete reply
I can assure you, the people reading this will be here when you get back from break. Burnout sucks, and anything that can be done to hold it off is a worthy investment.
Rocktopus 11th Feb 2021, 1:59 AM edit delete reply
Yeah, that's probably true. Thanks for sticking with me.

Why not use the two Patreon pages as buffer while you have two weeks off but still post here. I’m a Patreon to support the comic. I’m not worried about seeing pages early.
Rocktopus 11th Feb 2021, 2:01 AM edit delete reply
I thought about it, but I'm worried that will discourage new people from wanting to pledge anything to patreon.
Bookeater_otaku 11th Feb 2021, 2:11 AM edit delete reply
Instead, use the break to make some more buffer pages and finish any art commissions you have left. That way, you won't be as much flooded with work and you can resume the usual posting once you are rested and a bigger buffer for weeks where you are too busy. I am sure you have many more Marble Gates sidr projects that you alsi want to give your attention to. Take your time.
chris-tar 11th Feb 2021, 8:53 PM edit delete reply
Seeing a page early was a BIG incentive for me as a former Patreon supporter.
Oldarmourer 12th Feb 2021, 2:59 PM edit delete reply
I can't afford to 'Patreonize' every comic I read :(
Even at 1$ per, that would quickly add up to more than my disposable funds
Food, Mortgage and bills already dispose of most of them.
I can't say that seeing pages early is a big incentive for me, we're going to see them anyway, eventually.
The 'adult' versions of the characters wouldn't fit with this comic either
I'd dearly love to support the artist, but the best I can do is turn the adblocker off when I visit and vote for it on TopWeb, even if the vote system is completely buggered up this month.
Some more 'history' or character study pieces would be great filler during a story break though, maybe there's a file folder full of discarded sketches and concepts for us to see what might have been, no matter how 'rough' ?
Seeing the art develop is as interesting as reading the story, sometimes :)

Put on and tighten the wrist strap.
Hold the mace securely and do not let go of it
Use the mace handle.

I actually have a wii console and never used the strap.
Guess I would have lost my weapon if I was in her situation.
