The statues look really well done. But Randulph helmet discarded in the sand(dust) is worrying.

Look like this will be an interesting floor (mind the dust!).

Thank you! I'm actually quite happy with the design of the floor for this chapter. I'm looking forward to showing it!

Just curious, how many floors concepts do you have in reserves for this story? What is your creative process to make a floor, it's traps and monsters?

Agree, concerning sight that helmet. If Rnadulph has backstory, perhaps this is the chapter which will reveal it. We know he's familiar enough that both the arch wizard and some big bad, monitoring marblegate recognise his name and make note of it. I suspect there's more reason to that than the amazing amount of time he's survived.

Statues. And dust. It looks like there's a gorgon here, or maybe a medusa, unless it's a cockatrice or a beholder.

Did you know? Dust is actually petrified air. If you see dust somewhere, it's proof one of the aforementioned beasties was there not long ago.
GAMING 22nd Nov 2020, 10:44 AM edit delete reply
The statues are on pedestals, that implies they are actual statues and not petrified people, which implies that they are alive because that's just how dungeons work.

I'm sure he's taken his helmet off for a moment while he rubs square leaves on his head.

Or some other hangover cure. It's actually one of the three subjects he is an expert at:
- Dungeoning
- Mixology
- Hangover Cures

Wow, I don't know what exactly it is, but I can really feel the sense of scale in this image. Those statues look massive.

Never Ending Story vibes

Our dear adventurers might want to wear a dust mask on this floor. I can just imagine their lungs after this... And sand "everywhere" on you, in all those uncomfortables places... brrr.

...sand...sand-dunes...SANDWORMS...???

Could be a different helmet, a lot of them look alike...
Better check it for magic, just in case
It didn't do the former owner much good...
But he didn't get hit in the head from the looks of it ;)

My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings;
Look on my Works, ye Mighty, and despair!
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal Wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away.”

A quirky movie but still a good rendition ;)

...reminds me to the opening-scene of 'The longest day'- the classic movie about D-Day...!
...GREAT REFERENCE...!!!

...let me guess...

...THERE WILL BE DRAMA...!!!

...looking forward to page 2...! :D

I really doubt that is intentional tbh, it could be but nothing here is really unique to that so I think it's just coincidence. So not really a reference.

Is that really dust or is it quicksand?

Hm, that head in the middle gives me a real Athena vibe. Should be interesting to see where this goes.

reminds me of the poem of ozymandias
