Thank you!
Photomaginarium 14th Mar 2020, 3:46 PM edit delete reply
but ... where's arch W. Aldo?
MajorDZaster 14th Mar 2020, 9:01 PM edit delete reply
Oh no.
Forget chapter 0, THIS is what he looks like in my head now.
Photomaginarium 13th Mar 2020, 4:28 PM edit delete reply
looks like there are objects collected from all the far-flung corners of the world.

probably should wash your hands vigorously after leaving the tower in case you picked up the Marblegate-virus. also might want to follow the dwarf's hygiene advice and self-isolate with a keg of beer for a couple weeks afterward.
Rocktopus 13th Mar 2020, 4:50 PM edit delete reply
Live for over 120 years and you tend to pick up a few things.

one of those conch shells sat behind the door at my Grandmother's for as long as I can remember, it was offwhite, tan and pink, just seeing one on that shelf brought her house back to my mind's eye crystal clear :)
Photomaginarium 14th Mar 2020, 3:45 PM edit delete reply
that is cool, man.
Sturzkampf 13th Mar 2020, 5:26 PM edit delete reply
If you assume everything is trying to kill you, this is a pretty terrifying place.
Rocktopus 14th Mar 2020, 12:23 AM edit delete reply
Thank God those rules are just for the dungeon!
Photomaginarium 14th Mar 2020, 12:52 AM edit delete reply
i'm suddenly terrified of the candle-stub.

.... aaaaand everything else.
Oldarmourer 13th Mar 2020, 5:47 PM edit delete reply
That must be his familiar's office door in the baseboards...doesn't it get a sign too ?
Rocktopus 14th Mar 2020, 12:24 AM edit delete reply
lol who knows what a little door is for in a wizard tower?
Averest 13th Mar 2020, 6:38 PM edit delete reply
I half expect there to be yet another receptionist on the other side of the door.
Rocktopus 14th Mar 2020, 12:24 AM edit delete reply
Bureaucracy-themed dungeon!
Bookeater_otaku 13th Mar 2020, 8:30 PM edit delete reply
Multiple things to like in this page.

The spiral staircase gives a feeling of distorted space, which is pretty cool for a mage tower.

The knickknacks shelf look good. Full of conversation starters... or traps from those who subscribe to the five fingers discount coupons.

The corks board full of notice. If the universal constant apply to this dimension, there is at least a reminder for this month employees anniversaries and a recruitment sheet, an administration notice reminding personnel that the gnoll garbage collection will be on Monday from now on and a recruitment sheet for a group social activities like "looking for members for the curling team! Annual tournament comming up!".

Nice door plate. Carved in stone. That's how you know your dealing with above middle management.

Thanks! I was proud of this page!
Bookeater_otaku 13th Mar 2020, 8:32 PM edit delete reply
Is it the SAME eye symbol on the wall that you find in the dungeon?! I just spotted this.
Lurker 13th Mar 2020, 9:51 PM edit delete reply
That's certainly potent fuel for wild speculations! :-P

What if Marblegate is actually the Wizard's pet project, and he's the one actually monitoring everything that goes on in there?
Oldarmourer 14th Mar 2020, 10:35 PM edit delete reply
or he's made the marblegate his life's work starting as a young man...
it's been there for 75 years and assuming the archmage is human, he could be in his 90's or older by now
the eye-symbol might be more for his preferred field of study...
either that or he used some things found in treasure to boost his prestige and/or power ;)
Photomaginarium 16th Mar 2020, 10:53 PM edit delete reply
or ... Marblegate "ate" or "consumed" the wizard a long time ago back when he was an adventurer, but only his life-force or consciousness, and now a being (or beings) from Marblegate use the animated husk of the wizard-doppelganger to peer "out" into the world around Marblegate ... and continue their plans ...
Rocktopus 14th Mar 2020, 12:26 AM edit delete reply
Illuminati confirmed?
Bookeater_otaku 13th Mar 2020, 8:34 PM edit delete reply
And there is a little door on the ground?! Now I am curious about what's behind it...
Rocktopus 14th Mar 2020, 12:27 AM edit delete reply
Knock first!
Lurker 13th Mar 2020, 9:52 PM edit delete reply
Love that eyestalk plant. "You're being watched!" it screams, silently. :-P

MajorDZaster 14th Mar 2020, 9:05 PM edit delete reply
That did draw my attention in particular. I imagined it was some sort of beholder flower.
BornOnTheNinth 13th Mar 2020, 10:16 PM edit delete reply
The Gargoyle sitting on the shelf must be afraid of Colleen if he has his eyes closed so tightly.

Speaking of eyes, those eye-flowers are a creative plant design.
Rocktopus 14th Mar 2020, 12:28 AM edit delete reply
It's actually an idol to a god worshiped in the far south.

One day, maybe, that little bit of lore will be explored...
MajorDZaster 14th Mar 2020, 9:13 PM edit delete reply
All I can concentrate on is the weapons stuck in the back and how it reminds of this picture of a Julius Caesar pen holder, with all the pens stuck into the back.
padanew 14th Mar 2020, 3:43 AM edit delete reply
Even the mice are smarter here. Do you see the door?
melaredblu 14th Mar 2020, 4:54 AM edit delete reply
You would think compared to some of the things she's seen in the Marblegate, a tower with some esoteric decor wouldn't turn her head. Then again, she would expect anything in the Marblegate to be weird and fantastic. It's always the things you don't expect, huh?
nix 14th Mar 2020, 11:01 AM edit delete reply
is that a potted beholder?
MajorDZaster 14th Mar 2020, 9:11 PM edit delete reply
That would explain why the vase's base is widened like that. And if that is the case, it would have to be a gazer (I think that's what Rocktopus mentioned in an earlier comic page) to fit in that.
Microraptor 16th May 2021, 4:28 PM edit delete reply
"She's off to see the wizard, the wonderful wizard Aldos!" :-D
