So many death flags being raised for the group. All of the nonsense they've subjected each other to is going to come to a head, and theft of party loot will be the catalyst.
Guest 31st Jan 2020, 7:36 PM edit delete reply
It might be loot hidden there, but it might also be something else.

Some cancer patients have one (or both) of their breasts removed in order to combat the cancer (mastectomy). In this setting, I would not know whether the level of surgery, science or magic might have something similar. It might also be due to a combat wound.

Other possible explanations?
Oldarmourer 31st Jan 2020, 8:17 PM edit delete reply
or she's an ex-Amazon...
or to better take the impact from a lance in a joust
or in case something gets past the shield on her left
or 'one's usually bigger than the other'
or maybe just a place to stash breakable loot in ;)

we'll find out soon enough

Good point, Guest. This certainly is a conundrum.

and of course the artist cleverly manages to not show the area in question through various ingenious and well done hte heck out of pixelating her...
Bookeater_otaku 31st Jan 2020, 8:31 PM edit delete reply
I guess, Ozzi managed to do is Observation roll...

Marigold has a secrect in the form of a missing boob? Did she lost it in a battle or accident? Did it get remooved with surgery? Maybe her cup size is smaller than it appears? Secret pocket? She dont have access to boob-pockets in that armor soo I guess there is that... but if she is smuggling stuff and stealing from the group... oh boy that's a big red flag right there.

And honestly, I didn't think of using the bank, a WARbank, to store armor and gears. It kind of make sence given the type of lodging around. Humm, we got to see more around town to see what is available (store, lodging, services). I guess there is also an extensive camping ground somewhere for those who decided to bring tents.

Are there groups of adventurers who banded together to form guilds? That way they support each others with different services (training, gears, lodging, etc). But with the Gates being a political hot bed and continue to have the attention of several nations, most guilds would probably be a front for a country or another to coodinate their effort in getting artefacts, power and riches from the Dungeon. Yeah, the political aspect of the Gates bearly got brushed on so far so I am eager to learn more.

I'd love to buy some Colleen merch if it were added to the store!

Perhaps she hacked off her right breast in order to be a better archer like the women from Amazonian lore?
Vulcan 31st Jan 2020, 10:53 PM edit delete reply
Having done archery in mixed company, with some of the ladies being quite well endowed, I can safely say this is complete BS. Even a quite busty girl can be a very good archer without maiming herself.

By the way that legend always annoyed me because it's based on some poorly construed popular etymology thing when someone (Hippocrates) decided that "Amazon" was "a-mazos" and meant "breastless". This makes about as much sense as if I claimed that the Mississippi is named after Missing Six Peas.
Older art (before Hippocrates' time) representing amazons never depicted them with mutilated breast. We do know that the Amazon myth was probably inspired by the Scythian (who did train at least some of their women as warriors, though they didn't have a matriarchal society) and we have no record of such practice among them, or the Sarmatian, or any other ancient people that may have been behind the myth.

I had a dozen peas, but now half of them have gone and vanished.

doh... you know history gud!

Actually it's called the Mississippppppppi, you were missing six p's there.

What does she wear normally under that? Looks almost like a noblewoman's outfit.
Oldarmourer 7th Feb 2020, 5:57 PM edit delete reply
I think they've likely just come from the changing room and baths and are storing their freshly cleaned armour rather than lug it around all over town to be lost, stolen or forgotten. Her clothes don't look like what you'd use for an arming jacket under plate so I'd assume they were what she changed into after a dungeon trip...nice things too, great detail in the art as always
Oldarmourer 7th Feb 2020, 6:04 PM edit delete reply
that, and when we see her full length, she's wearing plate leggings instead of a skirt...
She does stay in purple and white with a theme to the embroidery, maybe her family crest or a holy order ? She does sort of strike me as more of a Paladin than a Fighter.

thank you for your hard work creating a great comic.
your 'take' on magical fantasy 'dungeons' is interesting & original.
your art and design are top shelf.
well done.

Also remember most woman in the past were not as well endowed as women in this day and age. Remember drinking milk in school? BGH can cause larger breasts in women. It's too bad there is not one else who can ask her why she has that support. It may have a memento or something else important.
Matt 3rd Feb 2020, 8:56 PM edit delete reply
What's BGH?

Bovine Growth Hormone

one theory I'd give a lot more credence to is that we are a different breed from several hundred years ago, the easy availability of resources has evolved us to reproduce earlier and that can be seen in the earlier arrival of menarche in young women then the increased bust size may well be a way to attract a mate faster or to provide more sustenance for a larger number of offspring...or maybe not, could just be we have much more to eat now so we eat more and the fat needs to be stored somewhere ;)

Did she have breast cancer and get a tumor removed?

That's my first thought.
io 3rd Feb 2020, 3:36 AM edit delete reply
extra padding is good. absorbs shock and may lessen blisters. gets smelly though
David Argall 6th Feb 2020, 4:25 AM edit delete reply
But why on just one side? Other than breast cancer or other injury?
someone 7th Feb 2020, 3:20 PM edit delete reply
Perhaps one boob is bigger than the other. It happens.
Oldarmourer 7th Feb 2020, 5:51 PM edit delete reply
magical healing seems to cover a lot of things in this setting, including most diseases, but maybe not accidental amputation if not treated fast enough, or deliberate...
Oldarmourer 7th Feb 2020, 5:54 PM edit delete reply
and why would it be padded ? if there was something missing it could just stay 'not there' in the void and let the breastplate rest on the shoulders normally, it's not supposed to touch the skin in all areas anyway but leave a space for the impact of a weapon to go around the body...maybe there's something extra on that side that needs cushioned ?
MajorDZaster 7th Feb 2020, 10:06 PM edit delete reply
My first thought was that she had extra padding on the right side where her heart was. Then I found out why it's good I didn't take biology.
