Interesting & appropriate with the dictation element.

"every day single day"

Was that on purpose, may I ask?

AHA! So she's this fantasy world's equivalent of a good Catholic Irish lass then? That sheds light on her sweet disposition and growing resolve to do whatever the family needs. Is there a potato famine blighting Green Isle right now? ;)
Rocktopus 22nd Feb 2019, 7:54 PM edit delete reply
Rocktopus
Yup,! I always pictured her with an Irish accent
Dreadder 22nd Feb 2019, 9:06 PM edit delete reply
Heh, the luck of the Green Isle was really a dead giveaway and now that I think back, so was her and her da's red hair.

So we know she has an Irish accent and our dear stalwart friend as all dwarves of course has a Scottish one - now I can almost hear their conversations. :)
Bookeater 24th Feb 2019, 3:00 AM edit delete reply
Really? A scottish accent? I dont know why, our dear dwarf compagnion sounded like an Aussie who spent too long from home and lost a bit of his accent and picted the local dialect.
Dreadder 1st Mar 2019, 1:38 PM edit delete reply
Well, the dwarves tend to be depicted using Scottish accent and words, at least in most works I've read/seen. Words like "wee", "laddie" and also "aye", which archetypal dwarves tend to use are Scottish, though granted, "aye" is a bit more widespread in other accents as well.

That being said, I haven't really checked back if Ragdulf actually used any of those and just assumed so, so it is possible that you are correct. I suppose we'll have to wait for the clarification from our dear author. :)
Dreadder 1st Mar 2019, 1:40 PM edit delete reply
Err, that is Randulf, not Ragdulf.

In an era of antiheroes that lack even basic empathy a truly altruistic and kind hearted heroine is truly admirable!

Awesome letter BTW I glad she doesn't have some horrible backstory and that her parents love her.

Also, its not really all that hard to find four leaved clovers just have to spend some time looking!

There are already more than enough fantasy adventurers with dead parents, I didn't think we needed 1 more.

This letter should be a template for all parents writing to a child who's just left home.

Not sure on the etiquette of flagging another comic here, but there's a terrific Widdershins fan fiction that shows loving and supportive parents how not to do it:

As someone who just moved out of their parents house, it's relatable

Not familiar with Widdershins, I'm afraid

You get those too then?

Widdershins is well worth adding to your reading list:

A nice letter from home. I guess the forebording feeling I had the previous chapter was only in my mind.

So, where will next chapter take us?

Like I said on a previous page, you are a wonderful storyteller and artist, Rocktopus. It's nice to have relatable heroes for a change instead of broody billionaires, mutants and aliens. Those are fine for awhile, but it gets old year after year. For instance, I don't care what happens to the Avengers, not because the movies are bad in and of themselves, it's just that there's way too much going on. I prefer the first Captain America, Iron Man and Guardians of the Galaxy movies; focused, solid and fun, each in their own way. I'm not even going to comment on the DC movies since I haven't bothered watching one since Dark Knight Rises.

Then again, I didn't grow up with comic books, so my perspective is different than most.

Colleens walking down the stairs.

See this page:

Colleen is actually pretty tall for a girl.

Well, now that she has a 4-leaf clover, it's time for her to use that luck to search the fields for *more* four leaf clovers until she achieves exponential growth and amasses infinite luck.
